Two weeks till departure

Two weeks from tonight (meaning on December 31st, 2006), I will be boarding my flight to Paris, France, for the beginning of my 5-month-long adventure. While it means I'll miss out on this year's New Year's Eve festivities, the sacrifice should be well worth it, as I'll spend from the 1st to the 4th sightseeing around Paris, and then depart on the 4th, by train, to Rouen.

Once there, I'll be moving into the Ango Residence building (see my previous post about residences), and my classes at ESC Rouen will begin the week after.

I have had mountains of paperwork to do in applying for my student visa (which involved, for instance, one form that had to be brought to one office of Concordia to be filled out, then picked up and brought to another department, then picked up again after a 5-day wait and brought to the Regie de l'Assurance Maladie de Quebec offices to be stamped, and finally brought along with 8 or so other forms to the French Consulate of Montreal as I applied for my visa), and in finalizing my residence choice, but all of that is done now and all that really remains is to pack.

I'm still unsure what my classes will look like there, but they will include a number of Marketing courses (Brand Marketing, International Marketing, International Retail Management...) and an elective or two (Critical Thinking, Oenology...).

I'm really excited. My return trip is tentatively booked for June 2nd, but that may possibly change for a later date before then.
I've also got a shiny new digital camera to bring along with me, so I'll be sure to post some pics when I can.

That's it for now, more in the coming days/weeks!
